TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
“New knowledge is the most valuable commodity on earth.
The more truth we have to work with, the richer we become.”
~ Kurt Vonnegut
Did you know that the annual economic cost to employers for domestic violence related issues exceeds $5.8 billion per year?
By committing to receive free training for your employees, you will provide your staff with the knowledge and resources to decrease the economic impact that domestic violence has in your company, enhance your company’s overall performance and increase the support system for your employees.
We can accommodate any number of persons at each event, any number of trainings throughout the year, and any length of time per training. We will work with you to determine how to best meet the needs of your company.
Resource information will be provided at any and all trainings offered by LAAW.
TIME & TALENT
“Hide not your talents,
they for use were made.
What’s a sundial in the shade?”
~ Benjamin Franklin
Did you know that the Independent Sector values volunteer time at $19.51 hour?
At LAAW, your volunteer time and talents are priceless. There are a variety of avenues available for donating time and talent. LAAW does have specific needs, such as individuals serving as support staff at annual fundraisers and various opportunities providing direct service to battered women.
We also have many individuals who have met an unrecognized need after getting to know us and determining how they can best use their talents to support our efforts.
TREASURES & TENDER
“Give what you have; to someone it may be better than you think.”
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Did you know that LAAW has 22 staff members who operate nine programs and responded more than 7,500 times to over 5,800 victims of abuse with more than 5,500 children during the 06-07 Fiscal Year alone?
We could not fulfill our goal of providing immediate services to victims of domestic violence without the generosity of individuals and corporations in our community. Your contribution will demonstrate that you are committed to helping break the cycle of violence in your community and connect you with others in your community who share your commitment to ending domestic violence.
Though any dollar amount is greatly appreciated and strengthens our response in the community, many opportunities are available to give on a variety of levels. Each level of giving comes with its own special benefits.
